2/28 - NATIONAL REVIEW - USAID Funneled $122M to Charities Tied to Terrorism
The now-shuttered U.S. Agency for International Development has funneled at least $122 million in approved grants to terror-tied aid charities, including an evangelical Christian group that in 2014 facilitated a $125,000 sub-grant to a Sudanese terrorist organization linked to al-Qaeda’s Osama bin Laden.
USAID has long been complicit in funding humanitarian aid groups associated with designated terrorists, such as Hamas and Hezbollah. This is just one egregious example of the waste, fraud, and abuse within USAID that the Trump administration and the Department of Government Efficiency are working to uncover.

One organization, World Vision, was given $200,000 in taxpayer funding to direct toward the Islamic Relief Agency a decade ago. Of those funds, a $125,000 sub-grant was approved by the Obama administration. A whistleblower came forward to reveal the improper relationship between the two groups.
The evangelical non-governmental organization claimed in 2018 it had no knowledge of the al-Qaeda affiliate’s terrorism ties. In 2010, two members of Islamic Relief’s U.S. branch pleaded guilty to money-laundering, theft of public funds, conspiracy, and other charges. Six years earlier, the Treasury Department designated Islamic Relief as a terror-financing organization.
Despite the scandal, World Vision obtained $200 million in approved grants from USAID last year. It has received an estimated $2 billion since 2008.
Additionally, Helping Hand for Relief and Development received a $78,000 USAID grant in 2023 even after USAID’s inspector general launched an investigation into a prior grant. The group held ties to Pakistan’s Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation, a designated terrorist organization that played a role in the 2008 Mumbai massacre.
Helping Hand is partnered with the Unlimited Friends Association, a charity affiliated with Hamas and known for promoting violent antisemitism.
Another Hamas-tied group, Bayader Association for Environment and Development, received its last USAID grant on October 1, 2023, just before the October 7 terror attack on Israel. Bayader previously featured senior Hamas officials, including the son of the late Ismail Haniyeh, who orchestrated the October 7 massacre.

2/28 - WASHINGTON EXAMINER - Texas Blames Mexican ‘Cartel Violence’ for Death of Rancher
State government officials blamed Mexican cartels for the death of a U.S. rancher from south Texas who was killed by an improvised explosive device left on the U.S. side of the Mexico border.
“A tragic and alarming incident occurred near Brownsville, Texas, where a U.S. citizen ... was killed by an improvised explosive device (IED). This shocking act of violence highlights the growing threat posed by cartel activity along our southern border,” said Texas Agriculture Commissioner, Sid Miller...
This incident came days after Secretary of State Marco Rubio designated six Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations. Those cartels included the Cartel de Sinaloa, Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion, Cartel del Noreste (formerly Los Zetas), La Nueva Familia Michoacana, Cartel de Golfo (Gulf Cartel), and Carteles Unidos.
Additionally, weeks ago, a Mexican cartel member opened fire across the Rio Grande at U.S. forces, who returned two shots back into Mexico.
Following that incident, current and former senior Department of Homeland Security officials warned of escalating violence from the cartels, who have seen profits from human smuggling dry up since President Donald Trump took office.

Customs and Border Protection encountered a record-low number of illegal aliens at the southern border on Saturday, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Agents “encountered only 200 aliens at the U.S. southern border. That is the lowest number of apprehensions in a single day in over 15 years,” according to a statement from DHS.
In February 2024, daily encounters of illegal aliens at the border averaged over 6,000.
Among U.S. voters, 63% approve of Trump’s deportation efforts while 33% strongly oppose the effort, according to a recent poll conducted by the Napolitan News Service. The survey also found that 70% of U.S. voters think legal immigration is a positive for the country but believe illegal immigration is harmful to the nation.

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr will brief the Republican Study Committee on Wednesday about George Soros’s “unprecedented” scheme to take over 200 Audacy radio stations.
Carr will detail how the FCC, under Democrat leadership, approved a license deal delivering leftist billionaire Soros over 200 Audacy radio stations.
Soros reportedly took foreign investment to make his bid for the 200 Audacy radio stations, which cover 40 media markets, and asked the commission to make an exception to the normal review process.
This is reportedly the first time such a deal was fast-tracked without a national security review process, which normally takes at least a year.
“First, I just have to point out: a Commission eager to fast-track a billion dollar broadcast media reorganization, disregarding foreign ownership concerns,” FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington noted in a statement at the time, “is the same Commission that has gone back to the well several times to impose and re-impose foreign sponsorship identification rules on our smallest independent broadcast license holders every time they place local church content on the air.”

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he personally plans to travel to the Fort Knox military base in Kentucky to find out whether all of the nation’s gold reserves are still there.
America's gold reserves at Fort Knox have garnered a lot of public attention after Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) questioned whether the $425 billion reserves are still intact. The discussion about America's gold reserves began after Musk responded to posts on X, stating that the gold belongs to the American people and they have a right to know its status.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says there is an audit every year and that “all the gold is present and accounted for.” The US Bullion Depository at Fort Knox has stored precious metal bullion reserves for the United States since 1937 and has become synonymous for secure and well protected.

On April 5, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 6102, which prohibited the hoarding of gold coin, gold bullion, and gold certificates within the continental United States. This order was made under the authority of the Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917, as amended by the Emergency Banking Act in March 1933. The order required all persons to deliver all gold coins, gold bullion, and gold certificates to the Federal Reserve in exchange for $20.67 per troy ounce. ["There's no inflation."]
The Gold Reserve Act of 1934 was passed on January 30, 1934, and it required that all gold and gold certificates held by the Federal Reserve be surrendered and vested in the sole title of the United States Department of the Treasury. The act also prohibited the Treasury and financial institutions from redeeming dollar bills for gold. The act effectively made it illegal for private citizens to own gold, with some exceptions for jewelry and collector’s coins.
The answer to the question of when it was illegal to own gold in the US is from 1933 to 1974. The Executive Order 6102, signed on April 5, 1933, prohibited the hoarding of gold, and the Gold Reserve Act of 1934 made it illegal for private citizens to own gold. The limitation on gold ownership in the United States was repealed after President Gerald Ford signed a bill legalizing private ownership of gold coins, bars, and certificates by an Act of Congress, codified in Pub. L. 93–373, which went into effect on December 31, 1974.

The Federalist - The House Judiciary Committee issued a series of subpoenas to the FBI on Monday aimed at obtaining documents related to President Biden’s weaponization of the agency against his political opponents. The move is an apparent attempt to eliminate any legal obstacles used by the bureaucracy to hide evidence of the prior administration’s abuse of the agency.
“Under the Biden Administration and the tenure of former Director Christopher Wray, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) departed from its core public safety mission, suffered from senior leadership failures, and refused any real transparency or accountability for its actions,” committee chair and Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, wrote in a letter to new FBI Director Kash Patel.
In the communique obtained by The Federalist, Jordan noted how the Judiciary Committee issued numerous subpoenas during the 118th Congress to the Wray-led FBI regarding information about the latter’s politicized activities and operations. However, Wray, according to the Ohio Republican, “failed to produce many of these materials” before stepping down from his position as FBI director.
The subpoenas issued on Monday and obtained by The Federalist seek records pertaining to some of the most notable Biden-era FBI scandals showcasing Democrats’ weaponization of the agency to target their political opponents. These include requests for information about the Biden administration’s 2021 targeting of concerned parents at school board meetings.

In Senate remarks Tuesday, Kennedy called for the government to stop funding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CBP):

2/20 - NTD - DOGE Identifies $40 Billion on Government-Issued Credit Cards
The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on Tuesday said it’s looking into $40 billion in spending linked to government-issued credit cards.
DOGE revealed that the federal government has 4.6 million active credit card accounts that processed 90 million unique transactions during fiscal year 2024.
DOGE also released a breakdown of the departments and federal agencies, their year-to-date spending, transaction amount, and current active accounts. The National Science Foundation, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Interior were among the federal agencies listed.
The Department of Veterans Affairs had the highest spending at over $17.3 billion, followed by the Defense Department at over $11.2 billion.
The Departments of Justice and Homeland Security spent over $1 billion each. Small agencies and organizations combined recorded over $2.3 billion in spending.

When a commercial crabber in Lee County got a call from someone claiming to be a detective in northeast Florida – saying he was involved in a crime hundreds of miles away – he thought it was a prank.
It turns out, it wasn’t.
The man was eventually arrested – and the fact artificial intelligence was behind it – left him stunned.
More than 300 miles northeast of Lee County sits the coastal resort city of Jacksonville Beach.
It’s at a fast-food restaurant near the ocean where the crime happened.
In November 2023, a young girl told police that a man – a stranger – had asked her to come with him – twice – while in the restaurant.
Thankfully, she didn’t, and the suspect left. But police were able to pull surveillance photos of the man, and months later, Robert Dillon would be arrested for the crime: accused of luring or enticing a child.
Reports from the Jacksonville Beach Police Department show detectives initially didn’t have much to go on.
That is – until the neighboring Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office ran the restaurant surveillance photos through a facial recognition program – artificial intelligence – which revealed a 93% match on facial features to Dillon.
[Dillon] had to pay to bond out of jail, pay for an attorney to defend him and, ultimately, pay for a crime he never committed.

Newly sworn-in Attorney General Pam Bondi held her first U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) press briefing Wednesday where she announced federal charges filed against the state of New York, specifically Gov. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 54% of Likely U.S. Voters support limiting automatic birthright citizenship to births where at least one parent is a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident, including 32% who would Strongly Support such a limit. Man Wah is one of scores of Chinese companies to relocate to industrial parks in northern Mexico in recent years, to bring production closer to the US market. As well as saving on shipping, their final product is considered completely Mexican - meaning Chinese firms can avoid the US tariffs and sanctions imposed on Chinese goods amid the continuing trade war between the two countries.

USAID, the country's chief international aid agency, enjoys an annual budget of over $40 billion in appropriations — much of it splurged on a host of far-left foreign causes that run counter to Trump's America First agenda. 3. Mass Migration - According to federal funding records, almost $45 million in USAID funds were slated to provide emergency food assistance and economic support for Venezuelan migrants in Colombia through the United Nations World Food Programme. ...
4. 'Sexual Health' in Third World Countries - In fiscal year 2023, using U.S. "family planning funds," USAID spent massive sums of money on contraception and condoms abroad, shipping about $60.8 million worth across the globe...
5. EcoHealth Alliance - Between October 2009 and May 2019, USAID partnered with Wuhan lab collaborator EcoHealth Alliance on "PREDICT," a project of USAID's Emerging Pandemic Threats (EPT) program.
